Common Dryer Problem and How to Fix It.
Having problems with your dryer? Take a look at some of these troubleshooting tips that can help you diagnose the problem and find the best method to repairing it in the shortest time possible!
Dryer won’t turn on
Sometimes when your dryer won’t turn on the problem is as simple as the machine not receiving power. This can be caused by a faulty outlet, a circuit breaker that has tripped, or mechanical timers and knobs that don’t work properly.
If the machine is under constant heavy use, this could be the reason it may stop working efficiently. The other thing you can do is check the heating element, and thermostat to ensure they are not the issue and that it is indeed a problem with the outlet or another issue.
Machines fail to spin or tumble
If the door doesn’t properly close or the door’s switch isn’t working, it may stop the machine from spinning. Although, most of the time this problem occurs if there is a broken or loose belt. If your dryer doesn’t tumble the clothes will be sitting in a wet pile and eventually gain a musty odor. Not to mention leftover water in the home that has the potential to leak could be costly and a safety hazard for your family.
Dryer produces little or no heat
A manufacturing heating element, ignitor or thermal fuse can cause a dryer to stop producing heat and will most likely require professional repairs. This is a big problem because your clothing will not dry they will simply tumble, but this may leave them with an awful odor and still wet after the full cycle.
